Hope, Health. Hard work, Honesty and Humour Assure success
"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.
If you love what you are doing, you will
be successful.”
– Albert Schweitzer
In today’s dynamic world, so many events are happening around us, which impact our
lifestyle and performance, both at the workplace and at home. If you are mentally happy and
physically healthy, you will succeed in your mission/ project. If you are
honest and maintain professional integrity, your team will most willingly
support you and that will pave the way to your success. To consistently perform
well, you need good technical qualification, domain knowledge, high integrity,
discipline, good health and happiness, both at home and place of work. A bit of
humour and a good hobby will cheer you up to go through daily stress at the workplace
and home. Some important aspects are given in the following sections:
•
Habit.
Make a winning habit through proper planning, team-work, determination and
leading from the front. Your personal conduct in office or any public place
should be good. Your habit of punctuality, dress code, supporting the needy
will pay a rich dividend. Your eating habits will affect your health, so be
discrete.
•
Happiness. Happiness
is not just getting what you want, rather loving what you have and be grateful
to Almighty God. It is well established that people are happiest when applying
their unique skills toward a challenging project or mission. On weekends and holidays
be among family members and share the joy. Indeed, a happy person can perform better
than unhappy and bickering person. Therefore, be happy, make others happy and
remain happy.
•
Handicap. You must be fully
aware of all rules, instructions and ethos of the organisation and well equipped
with needed skills. You must not be seen as handicapped in knowledge
•
Hard Work. Hard
work always pays sooner or later. When knowledge is combined with hard work,
success is sure and it comes faster. Hard work must be evident through results
so that it is appreciated by all. You need to put your extra bit to keep going
consistently and not quit.
•
Harmony.
There should be harmonious relationships among all team members. Even at home,
there should be peaceful living with complete harmony among all.
•
Hassle-free.
In our life and workplace or even in a family there may be some sometimes some
hassles and we should be able to handle those well in time and in an effective
manner. Happiness in personal life or in a family comes if our living and
working environment are hassle-free.
•
Haste. It is
useful to work with good speed to achieve given target well in time. But do not
be in haste and do not do things in a jiffy. A decision which is taken. in haste is a mere gut and not logically sound.
• Hatred. You
may have a difference with colleagues, friends or family members and may dislike
certain aspects but you should not hate anybody. Hatred will make you angry and
you may lose your cool and act/react in an unwise manner. You may dislike a
person or opinion but you must not hate people just because they have a different
point of view.
• Healing. When
you find someone in distress shaken up or broken-down due to some big loss or tragedy, you as leader/manager or colleague must provide a healing touch to mitigate the intensity of
distress. Although time is a great healer to maintain good relations and
you must provide a healing touch to the needy.
• Health. It is true “Health is wealth”. A healthy body
and healthy mind enable you to perform your duties efficiently and assures
success. Maintain good eating and drinking habits and shun liquor and smoking. They rightly say- An apple a day keeps the
doctor away. Do regular physical exercise and periodic medical testing. If your
health is not good you will not be able to help others.
•
Helping Hand. Help
the needy, who may be peer, junior, poor, or weak/ aged. Giving a helping hand
to the needy is a great virtue. It does not cost much, to take one step forward
and listen to the problem and there may be a solution with available resources.
Helping effort will galvanize your team in your favour.
•
Height. To scale go new heights you have to climb
along the gradient which could be steep to very steep. To scale greater height,
there will be smaller heights (Successes), few valleys ( falls) but those who
are determined will quickly get up after the fall and resume to reach the top.
Never underestimate yourself instead, set your goal bit higher and keep going.
•
Hero.
Always take initiative to grab any
opportunity and do your extra bit to complete the task as per allotted budget,
duration and quality standard. Be a hero/champion of your team so that your views are respected and your team wins. If you prove your capabilities
through your demonstrated performance,
you will be accepted as a real hero and most sought-after for any team.
•
Hindrance. There will be
some hindrances during your journey of doing a job and maintaining your family. It is your knowledge and skills to circumvent and keep going toward your final goal.
• Hobby. A hard-working and sincere person needs some hobby to relax and recoup energy,
when away from the workplace. It is like periodically putting coolant in your car
radiator to save your car from getting heated up. A hobby could be gardening, music, dance,
cooking, photography, painting, bird watching or fishing. It is true that all
work and no play will make you a dull person.
• Holiday with Family.
Beside regular weekend with family, you should plan a few trips away from your
local surroundings. While on holiday with family, do not carry your laptop and
office files. This is the time to be away from the daily routine, enjoy and give
pleasure to the family members. You may plan to go to some beach, national
park, hill station or any resort. You may plan trekking, boating or sailing.
•
Home.
A building in which people live is called a house and if people live with love and
shared respect, the house becomes a home. Town in which we live is hometown and
likewise, we have home-state and home country. Irrespective of your position or an anywhere in the world, you must love and
respect your home country, home state, home town and parental home sweet home.
• Honest.
Honesty is the best policy for building trust and
long-term relationships. It applies in the workplace, among family members and
friends. There should be no fake actions or false
promises. If you are honest, transparent and upright, people will trust you and
support your mission. Your customers, vendors, teammates, seniors will respect
your honesty and commitment.
• Honour.
Take it as an honour to join any team in a forward-looking organisation. You
must honour your commitment to any senior, customer, vendor, business partner.
Always uphold the honour of your country,
organisation, team, family.
•

give up hope to reach your goal. Some give up almost close to winning a race or
reaching the mountain top. A little bit of extra effort and keeping good hope,
bring you success. After a good night sleeps, sunrises daily with new light and
hope. Therefore, cheer up, there will be a rainbow after the rain.
• Host.
Be a good host when you invite customers, vendors, business partners. Make your guests/ invitees comfortable in
every way so they speak good about you. This will enhance your reputation and
you get a boost to your productivity.

• Humble.
Being humble during victory/success is maturity. Being humble and avoid
unnecessary conflict in the workplace, among friends or in their own family is not sign
of weakness but magnanimity and tolerance.
•
Hurdles. As we commence our education, career,
business, or raise our family, there can be a few hurdles which take a lot of
efforts and drive of circumventing. Life is not a smooth and straight-line path.
It has many potholes roadblocks, barriers which one has to carefully negotiate
and maintain his/her progress to reach the goal on-time and within the allotted
budget.
•
Humour. A
bit of humour is like an energy pill which gives you a quick boost Whenever you are
depressed/or tired at the workplace or sitting through a long lecture/seminar. You
got to be witty and must distinguish the audience so that humour is not taken wrongly
by the audience. Humour should not be sarcasm to hearts some one’s religious belief
religious sentiments. However, humour should be subtle which does not hurt
feelings/sentiments of anyone. Humour should not be joking to win cheap popularity
One should be more careful and respectful when dealing with the opposite gender.
•
Hurt.
Do not hurt others through words, acts or while doing any business
transaction. Do not feel hurt because others differ in their opinion and cannot
support your view. It is maturity and magnanimity to speak words which are
pleasant.
