Joining hands bring synergy and enduring success

Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.”  Greg Anderson

The money and experience are less important as you can earn these. Ideas and team members joining hands are more important for taking it forward and innovate. You need to hold brain-storming/brain sketching sessions to pick the best doable idea and implement it faithfully. Joining hands is not just an addition but a multiplication of strengths. In a high technology-based society, companies go for alliances instead of traditional acquisition & mergers. Instead of competing against each other, it is more profitable to complement each other’s competency and retain market leadership. Some basic points are given in the following sections :

  • Jargon-Free. Do not use jargon and be simple and straight in your words, during report writing, briefing the team or making a presentation to the stakeholders. Remember while making any communication, you are not talking to yourself. Instead, your main effort is to convey your point of view, which is easy to understand by the target audience.

  • Jealous of Others. Do not be jealous of the success of your peers or friends. Instead, congratulate them and get inspired by their success. Let their success be your challenge to raise the bar and cross. Often jealousy breeds contempt, friction and negativity.

  • Jeopardise. Be careful and take a calculated risk. You should not propagandise your carrier by any premature decision say resigning from a job without having a better job in hand. Similarly, do not jeopardise any other person’s carrier or any business deal.

  • Jerky. Always be steady and progressive in your carrier. Any jerky movement having started, stop, start with irregular pause will result in a loss of faith among customers and business partners. Jerky efforts will adversely affect your team working and loss of synergy.

  • Jewel. If you work with full energy. apply your skills and regularly innovate, you will be considered a jewel in the company.

  • Jiffy, Always collect facts, and apply your knowledge to respond a situation. Do not take a decision in a jiffy as that may not be a sound decision,

  • Job Enjoyment. Love your job and put in your best efforts to deliver committed output on-time and every time. No job is difficult or boring if you love it. Infect, if you enjoy your job time just flies. You never feel fatigued.

  • Join Hands. Always join hands to have collective wisdom and synergy. Joining hands brings synergy and enduring success. Joining hands and ideas provide strength and a win-win opportunity. The good old saying is ever true,

United we stand divided we fall.”

That is why many competitors go for technical alliances to gain strength from each other. They follow win-win strategy as success “mantra” for sustainability.

  • Joke. One may crack a subtle joke as appropriate to the occasion without hurting the feeling of anybody. One should not be joking most of the time to amuse others and win cheap popularity. Life and carrier are serious matters and not to be taken very lightly. A person should reflect maturity to speak as appropriate to the audience on the occasion.

  • Jolt. When the situation is adverse be clam and hang on. Do not get jolted out and lose balance.

  • Jot down. Make it a habit to keep a small notebook handy to quickly jot down any new idea which may spring any time.

  • Journey. A service carrier is a long journey with many challenges where you are to respond quickly and appropriately. It is not a short run or walk, but a well-planned venture to fulfil your dream. A race may be undertaken alone but for a journey, you need partnership and support. People who undertake a long journey with missionary zeal may start with a small group but as the journey progresses many more join 0n the way and it becomes a powerful caravan. This is how Mahatma Gandhi started its Dandy- Yatra, a movement against Salt farming law of British rules India.

  • Jovial Nature. A bit of humour is a spice in life and keeps the team stress free. During stressful days, a person of jovial nature remains cheerful and makes a workplace a happy environment. It does not mean you are looking for cheap popularity but being a better team member.

  • Joyful. The secret of joy in work is the search for excellence. If you enjoy your job, you will remain engrossed and happy. Smile away, enjoy and make others enjoy it too.

  • Judicious. You are to be judicious while allocating resources to your teams as per their competencies. You want them to succeed in their assigned task since their success is your success. It also means unbiased and merit based decision making.

  • Jump and Leapfrog. If you are to rise fast and reach your planned destination, you cannot follow a policy of “slow and steady wins the race.”.You need to look around, build strength and leapfrog at an appropriate time. However, you need a reasonable stay in a job and leapfrog at the appropriate time. Do not leapfrog at short intervals since that will reflect inconsistency and lack of contribution to the organization.

  • Jurisdiction. It is important that you should know organizational boundaries and do not try to overstep other territories. People are often quite sensitive to their jurisdiction. It is a good business practice to remain focused in your own area of responsibility.

  • Just-in-time. In manufacturing you need to procure just-in-time to reduce cost of transportation and storage of material in warehouse

  • Justice. Do full justice to the task at hand and the people you command. While dealing with your team, you must be fair and unbiased without any type of prejudice. Your all actions must be justified and aligned to the organizational goal and your committed targets/deadlines. The team will respect your fully justified actions and support your goal.
