Quality
is the Key for Business Sustainability and Growth
“Eventually
everything connects – people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is
the key to quality per se.” – Charles Eames
Quality is the responsibility of all from GateKeeper to the CEO, Everyone in the
organization must be a part of the quality movement. The senior management should
give more weightage to quality and get their organization certified for QA. Once QA certified, they should arrange to
display Quality Flags and Banners in the premises. To instill quality spirit, let
people wear caps and shirts with a quality badge. When
you deliver any project or product or service to your customers, they often
stress that the product should conform to international standards or standards
as stipulated by the customer. A quality product will have assured performance
and ease of operation and great demand in the market. Although quality is not
free, it gives great satisfaction to the customers and channel partners.
Quality assurance is the responsibility of every employee and all managers are to
take lead in this process. Salient points which can help to achieve success are
given in succeeding sections:
• Qualification.
You need the requisite qualifications for the job you plan to join. In today’s
world, technologies and business processes are changing very fast and you need
to keep abreast by doing various courses related to current and future jobs. In
addition to academic qualification, you need to acquire an additional skill set and
remain highly employable/productive.
•
Quality. The quality of a product/service is very important
to the customer. Quality is a label or brand for a company for which it will get
more offers for alliances, repeat orders from customers, and business will grow.
The mantra for survival in the cut-throat market is “Quality.” Maintaining quality
standards is the responsibility of every member of the organization.
·
Quality Inspection.
To ensure high production with good quality the manufacturing facility manager
employs a quality manager who carries out quality inspection as per required standards.
This helps in reduces the rejection rate and cost of rework. A more effective approach
is to have in-process quality control rather than post-production inspection.
·
Quality Assurance. An
organization that has set quality standards as per international standards
(ISOs), will have formed quality circles to train their workforce to adhere to
laid down quality standards. All good organizations get certified by quality
evaluating agencies and display their quality rating. A higher rating in QA helps
them in getting good business alliances
and customers,
·
Quotient. A
successful leader, besides having a good Intelligence Quotient (IQ), he/ she /needs a good Emotional Quotient (EQ).
Some employers also give due consideration to Adversity Quotient (AQ). During recruitment drive, all employers stress picking up candidates with good IQ+EQ. It is well established that a person
who is emotionally stable will perform better Likewise, a person who has better AQ can face adverse situations bravely, stay determined and get past success.
·
Quantum Jump,
It is good to keep your skill updated and have steady growth in your career. However, after 5-6 years of experience, you should boost your skills and upgrade your CV
and take a quantum jump in your career.
·
Quiet. Do take
note of quiet workers who are dedicated but do not showcase While conducting a
conference or discussion, encourage and prompt quiet members to participate more actively.
·

quantity per hour or per day. It is also important to mix the correct quantity of elements
when making a mixture. If we take the wrong quantity of some element, the mixture will not have desired properties.
•
Quantitative.
You must talk more quantitatively than qualitatively when dealing with any
project or business alliance. It is easier to verify/validate figurative
information than verbal statements.
·
Query. When you
are assigned a task you may ask any query to clarify your mind. Do not assume
and proceed with the execution of the task as that will produce an unacceptable
outcome.
•
Quest.
You should be always committed to quality and ensure its compliance by your
team. It is your quest for quality that will help you and the company to grow.
•
Question,. You
should ask questions to clarify your
doubts about the assigned not but not to cause obstruction to the task. Do not
ask why the task is to be done but you may ask in a positive way as why it cannot be done the other way around. This
will help you to develop new ideas for innovations of the future. However, your
asking question should not be misunderstood that you are either delaying the
task or causing obstruction by questioning the assigned task.
•
Questionnaire. The questionnaire is a very good tool to capture data from distant places and help in building a database. To develop a useful questionnaire you must be knowledgeable
about the target audience and management objectives.
•

action/activity, you must see it through. Only weak people get scared of
challenges and quit while brave ones keep going and win.
